The Jeep Cherokee has a few updates for 2017. All the trims, except the Sport, come with high-intensity discharge headlamps. There are going to be two new packages available for the Overland: Heavy Duty Protection Group and Trailer Tow Prep Package. Under the Cherokee's Hood
Under the hood of the base Cherokee models is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. It generates 184 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. Most of the models have the option to put a 3.2-liter V6 engine. This engine is rated at 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque. Both these engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission. There is the choice of either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive on either engine. The Trailhawk comes exclusively with four-wheel drive. There are two 4WD systems: Active Drive I and Active Drive II. The Active Drive I system doesn't require input from the driver and has the Selec-Terrain dial with Auto, Snow, Sport, and Sand/Mud. The Active Drive II system features an additional Selec-Terrain mode with Rock along with a locking rear differential and low-range gearing. When the Cherokee has the option towing package it can tow up to 4,500 pounds.
Design of Jeep Cherokee
There are five models to choose from in the Cherokee line-up. The Sport has all the base equipment of LED running lights and taillights, height-adjustable front seat, Bluetooth, cruise control, remote keyless entry, a six-speaker audio system, a 5-inch touchscreen, sliding and reclining rear seats with 60/40-split folding seatbacks, and 17-inch steel wheels. The Latitude offers features like automatic xenon headlights, a rearview camera, LED interior lighting, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a folding front passenger seat with storage compartment inside the seat cushion. The Trailhawk has all the features you would want for off-roading like increased ground clearance, off-road suspension tuning, hill ascent and descent control, skid plates, tow hooks, a locking rear differential, and a larger driver information display with color graphics. The Limited comes with remote ignition, upgraded power-folding side mirrors, heated front seats, leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The top of the line Overland, comes with advanced safety technology, a power liftgate, cornering lights, driver memory functions, sound-deadening windshield and front windows, a navigation system, various interior features, and a nine-speaker audio system. Through packages or just as standalone option, you can add the higher trims' features to the lower trims.

The 75th Anniversary package offers bronze exterior trim, tangerine interior accents, dual-pane sunroof, eight-way power driver seat with four-wat power lumbar adjustment, and 75th Anniversary badges.

What are the exterior color options?
There are ten color options: Firecracker Red, Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl coat, Recon Green Clearcoat, Hydro Blue, Rhino Clearcoat, Light Brownstone Pearl coat, Granite Crystal Metallic Clearcoat, Billet Silver Metallic Clearcoat, Bright White Clearcoat, and Diamond Black.
The standard equipment included to keep you safe are anti-lock disc brakes, traction and stability control, side curtain airbags, front knee airbags, and front- and rear-seat side airbags. All the models, except the Sport, come with a rearview camera. The Uconnect system includes features like 8.4-inch touchscreen that comes with a Uconnect Access system that offers on-demand roadside assistance, automatic crash notification, stolen vehicle assistance, and remote door unlocking. There is a package available on the Trailhawk, Limited, and Overland that offers advanced safety features like a lane departure warning system, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a forward collision warning and mitigation system with automatic brake intervention.
